MoreIn 1980, one of the OP Founders, Takeshi Yashiro, together with few other partners, ventured themselves onto the streets of Chicago to sell fish to Japanese restaurants. Without knowing, they pioneered and opened the doors to importing fish from Japan to supply the increasing demand by sushi restaurants. Since then, he and his team have established several food companies throughout the US and Canada, including few sushi restaurants.
In 2011, Takeshi was inspired with a new business opportunity and together with few other partners he established the Ocean Providence. In 2018, Takeshi passed away and his long time partners, Jack Sato and Terry Hasegawa, assumed the company as CEO and COO, respectively. For almost 40 years, the indomitable spirit in building new businesses and serving the public have been OP’s core values. Today, this motivation is stronger than ever, as the company founded by those pioneers envisions amazing opportunities ahead.
