Wokuni in Murray Hill

A sleek Japanese restaurant chain from Japan that has chosen the Murray Hill neighborhood in Manhattan to house its first location in the USA . Wokuni is part of Tokyo Ichiban Foods a company that has 50 restaurants in Japan. It opened in NYC in October of 2017 and it has gotten several reviews and good reputation for serving the freshest seafood from Japan for a moderate price. “Japanese Seafood Without the Painful Price Tag” says Pete Wells from the New York Times.

In a conversation with Mr. Yoshizawa, the head chef, he expressed that his customers are very pleased with their sushi and sashimi. The restaurant chain has its own aquaculture production in Japan and it imports bluefin tuna and king yellowtail direct from its own facilities. Its other Japanese seafood needs are supplied by OP in New York City. A special convenience at Wokuni is that customers can buy fresh seafood from Japan in a small retail counter by the restaurant entrance and take home to prepare their own delicacies.
